Application Support Analyst (32743)

PURPOSE:

  • Administration, maintenance and monitoring the relevant domain - Applications - Network – Systems – Telephony – Radio - VMware – Storage – Server, Desktop and Mobile environments

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and monitor copper network, network routers and switches, troubleshoot problems, outages, slowdowns, and non-connects
  • Provide cable support and cable management for network
  • Support LANs, WANS, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems through co-ordination with third party vendor
  • Administer the VMware 6.5 environment that serves the domain, application servers
  • Support Telephony systems and troubleshoot telephony issues for end users
  • Support and troubleshoot Radio communication systems
  • Manage IVR system: Messages, queues, alerts, accounts, and workflow
  • Provide end users hardware support: desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile units
  • Provide end users application support
  • Configure, maintenance and monitor of all Windows Server 2019/2016/2012R2/ 2008R2 systems
  • Maintenance and patching of all server farms including configuration of a Patch Management System to uniformly update, maintain and audit all systems
  • Administration and maintenance of Active Directory domain including    maintenance of Organizational Units, Groups, Users, Group Policies, Security policies, etc.
  • Administration of servers, configurations for user desktops etc.
  • Administer servers, printers, software deployment, security updates and patches
  • Configure and maintain all of the storage devices including SANs (Storage Area Network)
  • Implement and maintain comprehensive data backup scheme for all data on primary (disk) and secondary storage formats in compliance with the Disaster Recovery requirements of the contractual binding with the clients 
  • Support Security and Compliance activities to maintain First Transit/First Canada Regulatory, Contractual and Corporate requirements
  • Need to support & perform recurring audit tasks to maintain CyberSecurity and minimize risk posture.
  • Monitor systems and applications daily and respond to any security or usability concerns
  • Be a member of the 24x7 on-call support for users and clients
  • Other administrative and technical tasks as required

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Applicant should possess a BA, BS or higher computer degree, or should have significant related computer work experience in the lieu of a degree

 

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

  •  High level knowledge of the Microsoft Networking and Active Directory principles
  •  High level knowledge in a VMware environment
  •  High level knowledge with SAN
  •  Familiarity with Azure and network infrastructure including routers and switches
  • Work extended hours as needed including acting as primary after hours contact on a regular schedule
  • Able to work on an on-call schedule with team
  • Able to learn new technology and/or functional areas quickly and thoroughly
  • Able to work in a team environment, while being self-directed to accomplish tasks individually
  • Able to work in an energetic, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
  • Exceptional customer service skills and professional telephone manners
  • Good time management skills ensuring the completion of numerous tasks throughout the day

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Incumbent must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone. Able to sit prolonged hours, stress resilient, office type call center environment
  • Physically able to work in small spaces to perform cable management, server, workstation and other hardware repairs
  • Physically able to lift equipment, 25 to 50 kilos
