RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prioritize and review repair orders and operational demands to ensure safe, clean, reliable and efficient buses that meet their schedules and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Coordinate the repair, preventive maintenance, cleaning, inspection, bodywork, and all related functions of coaches and equipment.
  • Develop employees by scheduling, training, mentoring, encouraging, and rewarding performance.
  • Ensure proper safety & other corporate policies and procedures are in place and followed. Eliminate all hazardous working conditions.
  • See that proper tools and equipment are made available to employees so they can do their job safely and efficiently.
  • Perform quality control checks on all equipment leaving the garage.
  • Lead employees to achieve goals and objectives and issue appropriate discipline.
  • Schedule and approve work as per the company preventative maintenance program
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative and safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers (dispatch/operations/operators regarding equipment, availability, road failures
  • Other duties as required or assigned by management

 

EDUCATION:

  • Truck/Transport Red Seal Trade Ticket or Heavy Duty Technician
  • Must have a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program Technician's License (CVIP)
  • Applicable Provincial Journeyperson’s Certificate
  • Applicable provincial driver’s license

           

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of the operational fleet
  • Ability to work as part of a team, solve problems and make real-time decisions
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience in automotive, trucking or bus maintenance preferred

  • Shift work
  • Garage environment
